Optima Bronze Acoustic Guitar Strings 12-52

4 out of 5 stars because my low-E string became a dud during a 2-week case hibernation about one month in. I replaced it with a John Pearse of similar size and material. This now "hybrid" set of strings lasted a good long while.

I put these on a Gibson J45 Historic Collection 1942 Banner. The guitar runs very bright and bordered on harsh in it's first 2-3 years. I actually didn't really like the guitar all that much and was looking for a string to help tame the tone down. These strings gave me close to a year of great tone. Not too harsh combined with plenty of low to low-mid depth. I stink at finger-picking, but still managed to sound OK with these. I will try again sometime. I just hope I don't have to replace the low-E with a JP to get the same results. (LOL)

These are quite good strings. Sound and feel good on my Martin o-18...no surprises.

Strung up for a gig this past weekend, and they have a nice, strong, solid tone. I usually use phosphor bronze strings, and tend to like several companies' sets, and now it looks like these will be among those in my regular rotation.
