SIT B51024 5-String Banjo Strings, Stainless Steel, Medium, Loop End

I guess I was expecting more, my first try of these S.I.T. strings left me feeling quite disappointed. I've been using their American Root's monel strings on my acoustic guitars for the past year or so an absolutely love those. The sound, the durability, and the price make them a great choice for most of my guitars. So, it was only natural I would try them on my banjo. Here is the problem with theim: first, the .015 string breaks at the loop. Not even up to full tension and "snap" that was all she wrote. So, I open my second set and replaced the string with another. Now comes the sound. Not a full sound like I am used to (like D'Addario) but rather bright and tinny sounding. Now, I imagine they will warm up with age, this is just the 1st day they are on, but out of the gate, they just don't sound like I hoped they would. *** I did send an email to the company advising them of the issue and I will wait to hear back -- that is why the 3 star rating being neutral.
