(I'm switching from nylon monofilament in the upper registers, nylon-wrapped-nylon in the low midrange, and various wrapped wirecores in the bass to nylon monofilament only at the top and upper midrange, fibercore in the lowest bass, and fluorocarbon everywhere else.)
I am so thankful for the wide variety of gauges available for Savarez fluorocarbon and nylon single-string packs through Strings by Mail. I don't know where else I could select my strings so simply. It's not that I know exactly what I need in every situation, but the experimentation is half the point of my project.
