Description

NOTE: this is "mostly" a flat wound set as the Low E is round wound.

Thomastik-Infeld Plectrum Acoustic Guitar Strings are soft sounding and have low tension on the bottom end. The plain strings are made of brass coated steel. The wound strings have a silk inlay combined with a highly flexible steel core. The combination of lower overall tension, hybrid arrangement of flatwounds and silk inlays of these Thomastik-Infeld Plectrum Acoustic Guitar Strings produces a beautiful, almost classical tone, with the warmth of bronze and the easy playability of a fine set of jazz strings.

Fantastic, but I ordered the wrong gauge

Sounded fantastic, but I didn’t do my usual due diligence. This gauge is a little heavy for my 12-string. Will get the AC210 set next time. A *lot* of tension on the neck of a 12-string guitar.

Flatwound bronze on a 12 string

Have a bright sounding Fender F150-12 that sounded harsh and brittle on the plain strings. The brass plating on the plain stings really tame down the harshness of regular plain strings. The flatwound strings are a real treat with less tension and a creamy sound, not to mention the reduced string squeaks sliding up and down the fretboard. They are perfect for recording and worth the higher cost to make an inexpensive 12 string sound like gold to my ears. One reviewer said these strings have an addictive side effect as you'll never go back to other strings. If your 12 string acoustic sounds tinny and too bright, these strings will be your answer.

The best there is...

Installed these on my recently acquired Takamine ( already using AC210’s on my Alvarez-Yairi) Everything from the reduced tension and smooth feel of the flat wound strings to that beautiful balanced tone makes Thomastik- Infeld Plectrums the best there is...

AC 211 plectrum bronze 12string set

These strings smoothed out the sound of my Guild jumbo ,softening the jangly, too many overtones especially up the neck. They also make it a bit easier to play. So,I am pleased to recommend these strings.
