Thomastik-Infeld George Benson Jazz Series GB114 Electric Guitar 14-55

I’d been playing TI 13-52s for about a year when I gave these strings a shot about 9 months ago. I wanted to move up to . 14s because I found the sound of the . 13s to be too thin compared to the b and g treble strings.

I love the trebles on this set and the 14s sound great on my L5 Wes Mo. I plan on continuing to use this set until I stop being a sadomasochist and revert back to some lower gauge strings.

These flat wounds are awesome and the playability is great.

I put these strings on a Bellaneu Guitar that I made for Robert Ferrazza, Professor of Guitar at Oberlin Jazz Conservatory.
These strings always have perfect balance of tension and intonation is always spot on.
And the price directly reflects how long they will last, proving they are actually a great value.

almost $50 per set? i stopped buying them when they hit $30 per set. they used to be under $20 per set...

These strings are expensive . . . and well worth the price! I am running an Eastman 810 Archtop through a late-70s/early 80s Polytone Mini Brute, and the GB 14 gauge set gives me the optimum warm, full tone with a hint of bluesy, funky thump when I need it.
