Aquila Classical Nylgut

These strings give my open back five string banjo a warm tone, some would say punchy old-time. They require some initial patience as they will flex over a period of days. Once they settle in tune they sound beautiful. And, they are super easy on the fingers. They're easy to strike and fret. They last and last. Not that you need to, but for anyone with finger joint issues or grip strength these Classical Nylgut produce great tone and volume while being really easy to play.

Aquila makes the best strings for a banjo mandolin, guitar and ukulele.

Great as always

Aquila are my go-to strings for my vintage banjos as shown on this 1880s Buckbee. The medium with red 4th are consistent sounding strings. They just take a few tuning cycles to seat. Thanks for the great service and selection Strings By Mail!
