Really good for chord/rhythm playing. Plan on doing your left hand finger exercises to build up strength, esp in pinky. I transitioned from mandolin and needed to do this for lead work. I find using 1.25 -1.5 mm picks work best for strong projection to balance with fiddles and guitars.

This is the first time I have played a mandola. Strings worked fine but are on the heavy side. I wondering if a bit lighter strings would work as well. I do like the volume they produce,
