Gorgeous sound
What great strings. These strings are thinner than D'addario which gives plenty of room for the fingers. Which makes the sound thinner, but for some reason coaxes a lot more of your instrument's wooden properties, instead of the overpowering sound of the strings. The Cristal trebles are crisp and clean (like crystal!) and really speak forth with plenty of character, each note when played correctly sounds like a pefect little pearl. The Contiga basses are deep, solid, even, and ultra-musical. The polished basses (they contain real silver) are not polished to extremes, they still look like normal strings in contrast to other polished strings. Still takes technique to keep from squeaking, but are very forgiving compared to un-polished strings when it comes to string noise.
I have to use the words delicate and fluid to describe their sound, but when you push them hard - once again it is the natural woods of your instrument that speaks rather than the overpowering sound of thicker strings. The overtones and harmonics picked up immediately by the ear, and are a quite a eye-opener. I've switched all my classical guitars to this set and it has brought a certain beauty and elegance to each one consistent with the woods involved. Expensive, yes, but they are a go-to component for me when recording is important.
