A fine product but with limitations
Review by Timothy S. on 12 Nov 2019 review stating A fine product but with limitations The D'Addario Ukulele Humidifier Pro is well made and doesn't come in contact with the inside of the instrument, which is good. It's the inside of the sound chamber that is raw wood, so that's where the humidity needs to be. This little humidifier does just that.
As advertised, the sponge material holds about 12 times its weight in water, but since it only weighs about 1/10 of a gram it holds about a gram of water. That's not much. Larger instruments would do better with a different product like the Dampit violin humidifier.
If used according to directions while understanding its limitations, this is a very good product for smaller solid wood ukuleles and also larger laminate ukuleles where its mostly the bracing and glue joints that are prone to drying.
I recommend also getting the D'Addario Small Instrument Humidifier along with this to keep in the neck area to prevent fretboard shrinkage.
