A reliable string with a pleasing musical quality and a long life at a reasonable cost. The GR 65 MT's lower tension offers more malleabilty

Most of the pieces that I play....

Most of the pieces that I play are transcriptions of Renaissance lute pieces, so I want a string with a crisp, clear sound, and I'm willing to sacrifice a big, "melting" tone to get it. These strings provide it, at a good price. They also provide a nice contrast in tone when I move from the bottom of the sound hole to the top. The only disadvantage is that they don't last as long as many other string brands/types.
