Magma GE170SF Stainless Steel Flatwound Electric Strings, 12-52

Love these strings
Perfect balance and long lasting!!

I've been using D'Addario Chromes when I want flats and GHS Rollerwound Nickel Rockers when I want.... less flat... for a few decades now. These sit in the middle, way brighter and more sustain than Chromes, not quite as much growl and bite as the Nickel Rockers. Magma flats have more 'sing' to them than any other flat/compression wound string I've ever tried. I think they might be going on all my guitars. I love my Nickel Rockers (also available here at Strings By Mail and almost nowhere else if you live in Australia) but I just put these
Magma flats on the last guitar I'd already bought Nickel Rockers for and I think this is it forever. The prospect that these Magma stainless steel strings will last and be bright for literally years makes them probably my new favourite electric guitar strings.

Finally, a flat wound string with twang! No sting squeaking, feels like a normal flat wound, but sounds so much better than any that I've tried. Still can get a jazzy sound just by rolling the tone knob down, but can do C&W or any other genre that requires a brighter sound.
