Santana | Europa Sheet Music for solo guitar

Very nice arrangement

I heard "Europa" played in a Youtube video and wondered if I could find the music. Strings By Mail had it, of course. It was the first place I looked, so I didn't have to spend hours scouring the Internet. I ordered it right away, and just a matter of a couple of days later I had it on my music stand. Great job SBM!!

Having heard Santana's recorded version of Europa, there is no way the classical guitar can come close to the sustain and emotional power Santana gives this song when accompanied by his band.
With that being said, J.M. Raymond does an excellent job in giving us the true spirit of this song in a classical guitar solo arrangement. The first two bars are a dead giveaway as to the song, and any Santana fan will know it.

The Melody closely follows the recorded version and Raymond occupies the space between melody notes with melodic fills of eighth and sixteenth notes. There are also a couple of tasty descending passages of fourths, with a third tossed in that keep the piece moving along helping it breath a bit.

Typical of d'Oz publications the typesetting is great and Raymond's fingerings are spot on. The most difficult part of playing this arrangement will be bringing it to life and giving it at least half as much heart as Santana does!
It would also play well on any type of guitar with electrics.
