514JH on Tenor Ukulele, Low G tuning
Review by Bamba on 27 Oct 2023 review stating 514JH on Tenor Ukulele, Low G tuning I initially bought separately 4 strings for Baritone scale Ukulele (EBGD tuning, same as 4 strings on classic guitar)
Today I did research for wound Low G strings for Ukulele, suggesting to try 0.029" - 0.030" wound 4th string (classic guitar) instead of thicker unwound. Research suggested D'Addario Pro Arte J4504 and Fremont STR-FWG Soloist (as the best), so I ordered it.
But I cannot wait so decided to try. Glad I did! Worth Brown unwound low G is much thicker so it creates big audible intonation issues, and sounds dull; but this 514JH gives my Uke full resonance sound, with rich overtones, and even strings 1,2,3 sounds much richer because 4th string resonates on subtle nuances.
I tried it on Enya EUT-M6 full solid mahogany ukulele, tenor size, 26".
