I prefer normal tension strings on my tenor ukuleles for my playing style. The 540R series was recommended to me 30 years ago by the luthier of one of my tenor ukuleles, and I now use them on my other tenor, too.

Always great strings

I ordered my strings originally on Amazon. Easy I thought NOT. Amazon vendors both messed up the orders. I found Strings by Mail placed the new orders with them, everything went perfect.

Second and third classical guitar strings sound louder using fluorocarbon nylon strings, and they are slimmer, making them easier to play. However I still prefer a rectified nylon for the first string because vibrato is easier, and the sound is sweeter. I like the Savarez Alliance fluorocarbon nylon 542 and 543 R normal tension for second and third, and ProArte Moderate tension rectified nylon EJ 30.
