The Strings By Mail Bridge Bib is a simple and effective device that was designed by master luthiers to protect classical and flamenco guitars from scratches and dings during string changing and tuning. The Strings By Mail Bridge Bib is also invaluable to luthiers when performing saddle and bridge work.

Sturdy but a Bit Thick

Ordered this to prevent damage from string-lash on my new Cordoba C10. It’s nicely made and fits around the bridge adequately. The only issue is with the thickness of the bib - it’s very difficult to thread the strings through the bridge (much less tie them) with the bib in place. Ultimately, I suspect I’ll go back to using painter’s tape to secure a thin piece of cardboard below the bridge so it’s easier to thread and tie the strings.

Upside Down

Bib works fine but it could be a little thinner. The real problem is the top should be black instead of white to make it much easier to see when putting on the treble strings

Guitar maintenance

Haven’t strung the Knobloch strings yet. Looking forward to hearing them. Very impressed with the Dunlop System 65 Guitar Neck Cradle. Well made using quality material that rests the guitar on a soft scratch-free surface.

Strings by mail bridge bib

The bridge bib works well. The cut out is a bit wider than my bridge, so I push the bib up flush with the bottom edge of the bridge. The bib is fairly thick and provides excellent protection for top of the guitar, however when pushing strings through the bridge holes (from neck side) I need to pop the tips up a bit so they are on the surface of the bridge. I really like having the bib in place when I cut the ends of the stings at the bridge. No worry denting or scratching the top of the guitar

Sorry to say, we are no longer able to get these bridge bibs.
We are planning to find a new manufacturer so that we can bring them back in the future but as of now there is no firm timetable for their return. Sorry about that!
