They tamed my cedar topped instrument

After trying many brands and types of strings on a three year old Esteve Adalid model with a lattice braced cedat top, I'm quite pleased with this set. Unlike other strings I've tried, including carbon, titanium, and even plain old nylon, Erithicus strings give my instrument a more controlled, focused tone. This is especially true of the basses. Attack, intonation, and sustain are exactly what I would expect. Tuning was sufficiently stable to actually play them in two days. It took a week for them to remain within a cent or two overnight.

Fall in love with these strings!

I've been playing classical guitar for 30 years and have tried dozens of types of strings. I'm so glad I tried Knobloch's. I'm using medium tension as I want to easily fret at high positions. These strings have unbelievable sustain, the bass strings are warm and luxurious, and the trebles are bright and true. They set in within days after installation and out last many brands I've used. I'm going to try other styles of Knobloch's, like the Actives, just for the adventure.

Sweetly Thin String

These are medium tension, and while yes the tension is medium, I find the strings to be carbon-like thin compared to say D'Addario J45s. Personally I prefer a thicker string. They have a good sound, decent projection, good intonation, some sweetness to them.

A Really Good String Set

Knobloch describes these as "Mellow - Round" in the trebles and "Natural - Round" in the basses. I would fully agree. With out the clear brightness of Carbon, these still articulate well and sound both fuller and richer than the Knobloch Erithacus EDN 33. 5 Nylon Medium Tension Classical Guitar Strings I had use before returning to the Quartz.

I am using these on a Turrentine Cedar/Wenge lattice braced guitar. I really like what I'm hearing and how they feel.

Q: Which is the 2nd string and the 5th string. My eyes aren't good enough to clearly see the difference between adjacent strings. I have read that the orange or red mark signifies the 2nd and the 5th. Is this correct? Also which side goes through the bridge? The curled side or the opposite side or does it matter? One reason I ask is because my D string broke at the bridge after being on the guitar for about an hour.

A: The D string will be wound and the B will be plain. Which end doesnt really matter but the looser wound end will be easier to bend to tie on the bridge.
