Cork pads make a big difference

Have had the Abel Armrest for years and the cork had disintegrated . I used other materials, such as felt, but the grab was not as good as with cork, replacing with the original design made the product work as intended.

Flimsy at best. After a month of getting this replacement kit, the cork tore apart.

This unit works great WHEN it works. There is no margin of error putting it on. A 8th inch off and the unit pops off while putting pressure on it while playing. Frustrating is the word. Why not make the unit with a thick piece of cork, not this paper thin 9 dollar worthless bandaid.

Andreas Abel Armrest Felt / Cork Pad Upgrade / Replacement Kit

I love the armrest! It really eases the pressure on my arm and lets the guitar sing out more. The cork pads did not last very long despite my care. There are rubber pads underneath, so not sure why cork is needed- possibly to protect finish from rubber marking? SBM sent me a cork replacement kit right away. I am glad to have it if the rubber becomes an issue. I imagine that my French polish guitars may prefer the cork. Excellent customer service as always!

Q: Hi,
I was wondering if you sell the replacements for the rubber insets. I bought an armauflage armrest in 2014 and one of the rubber insets (the smaller ones, specifically the one at the far right side of the guitar) has already torn off at the top. I can no longer use it because now the hard plastic itself touches the guitar.

Current production armrests use a felt tape to protect the guitar body. This felt tape is included in the repair kit-
