D'Addario EJ25C Flamenco Guitar Strings with Clear Trebles, Full Set

D'Addario makes good products, no doubt. But Strings -by-mail makes buying them easy and fun. I appreciate their good prices, fast shipping and most of all their friendly staff!!!!!!

This is the set my guitar was designed for, so when a buzz developed on the 3rd with another brand, I went back, buzz gone.

This is a nice set for guitars that need that extra snap and brightness of flamenco guitars. While I love their sound, they tend to get this stiffness on the basses after several weeks of playing them. As I like strings with flexibility and elasticity, I find this effect of them undesirable. Other than that, great value and quality! Would recommend this over the black nylon set if you want clarity of tone and less slippage while doing slides up and down the neck.

I recently "graduated" from soft-tension strings and was ready for normal tension. I've tried other brands, but I always come back to D'Addario Pro Arte, because they feel and sound the best for me. As I was putting in an order for some normal-tension strings, I happened to notice D'Addario has flamenco strings. Since flamenco is what I play most of the time, I thought I'd try them out. I find that compared to the soft-tension I'd been used to, the flamenco strings aren't any harder to play; in fact they're easier to play things such as rasgueados, slurs, etc., that flamenco is famous for, and the sound is superior for this type of music. I also, as a comparison, tried a set of normal-tension strings, also by D'Addario. Amazingly, the flamenco strings are easier to play than even the soft-tension, from the perspective of a new guitarist who doesn't have the strength and skill in their hands yet. In fact, the flamenco strings are easier to play than either the soft- or normal-tension when it comes to the flamenco techniques. And the sound of the flamenco strings is superior to both the soft- and normal-tension for flamenco music. In a nutshell, I wasn't skilled enough for the extra strength for normal tension, and now, even though I am slowly getting a little better after four years LOL, normal tension still isn't as responsive to flamenco techniques as the flamenco strings are (easy to fret on the left hand, yet not too soft and bouncy on the right), and the sound is something you just can't compare.
