Cardoso | 24 Piezas Sudamericanas for solo guitar

There are many pieces in this collection written in keys rarely encountered for the guitar. Frankly, I haven't looked at them, other than to marvel at, e. g. , the key signature D# minor. Yikes! I'm sure there are many musical gems among them. But no, I bought the collection to get the delightful Milonga. The collection even includes the score for a 2nd guitar, making a beautiful duet.

The annotations and fingerings are very good. Unlike in the error-laced scores you might find for free on the web, there are no errors in this published collection. You get what you pay for. For the record, there are no tablatures.

My only complaint is SBM doesn't systematically publish the contents of the sheet music collections they offer. I've queried them with different pieces purchased in the past, and SBM is very responsive. But why not make the content available in the on-line description? So, as a courtesy I'm including an image of the table of contents.

Great variety of musical styles in this collection! A milonga, samba, vals, bailecito, etc. from various parts of South America. For those who enjoy styles like Antonio Lauro, Dilermando Reís, Barrios, Pernambuco, Montes, and the like this will be a good collection to have. There are a number of pieces that use a capo and one piece in a G6 tuning, which keeps it interesting, but the notation is written in a way where it’s easy to follow- with the notes remaining in pitch, instead of being in accordance to the capo
