C3. HD Tenor Uke

These strings are wonderful. Hollis hit it out of the park. What caught my eye was the mention of his Beau Hannam tenor. I have a Hannam tenor, koa sides and redwood top. It’s a lovely instrument but I’ve always thought the A string was a little quiet. Not with these strings. The balance is good across the 4 strings. I’ve not played wound G and C but it isn’t really an issue. Allow some extra time to figure out the Thomastik-Infeld wound strings with your particular bridge type. A pin bridge will be easy, tie bridge or string through is a little more involved.

I’m really glad to have found these strings.

Customer Concoction Strings

I bought a Ukulele that had these stings. I loved the Wound G & C Strings. So fortunately Strings by Mail carries them and I picked up an extra set. Highly recommend.

Wonderful set

I'd not used a wound C, and I'm glad I tried these. The
T-Is are smoother than even Uke-Logic or LaBella (same thing?) or Fremont wound Gs. The Savarez are longtime favorites, and this set has sounded great on every uke I've tried them on. Considerably less moolah than putting the set together from parts. Especially nice for blues

This may be the set I've been looking for.

My Romero Creations Mahogany Tiny Tenor has a lovely, deep tone, but sometimes it's a little too boomy and hollow-sounding. I just string it with this set and I'm really impressed so far. They maintain the sweet tone but are clear and very well-balanced. Despite having two wound strings, there is minimal string squeak. If they hold up well, I might make this a permanent fixture on this ukulele.

Beautiful!

I do a great deal of testing to find strings that match the tonal quality of each ukulele. These are a wonderfully balanced set that brings out the sound from my custom Griffin instrument. It Is a recovered redwood top with rosewood back and sides and has a radiused fret board. The redwood/rosewood combo gives a clear and somewhat mellow tone that these strings enhance. I play jazz, blues, and some old time folk. I highly recommend giving these a try on your instruments.
