Fremont STR-FWG Soloist Wound Low G string for Sopr, Conc & Tenor Uke

Love this flat wound. Feels and sounds great. No more squeaky low G.

Strings by Mail has requested that I share my experience with my recent purchase. I ordered (4) Fremont STR-FWG Soloist Wound low G strings for a tenor uke but unfortunately received (4) Fremont STR-FTG Black Fluorocarbon Low G sets instead. I have zero interest in what they sent. They may be decent strings, but I already have plenty of fluorocarbon sets that I am more than happy with. As for the (4) Soloist Wound low G Squeakless Polished strings that I did not receive, I will say, based on my past purchases with Strings by Mail, they are very beautiful strings in both sound and touch. They cost a bit more, but most quality things usually do. For a low G, I can't imagine using any other string. If you are looking for a quieter low G string, this would be one to try.

This is a nice sounding string. It was easy to string also.

Brand new to uke, the one I bought had a high G string. Shop manager swapped it out for a guitar string (didnt have a uke low G) and I HATED it.
I was concerned that my other strings were nylon and the Fremont was a wound string, but it’s been great, gives a bit extra oomph to the bass. Actually, it’s a great match!
