D'Addario EJ46 Pro Arte HT Classical Guitar Strings * SNH-3B, Bass Set

The Pro Arte strings are classic workhorses! My personal favorite sound as they have an excellent mix of brightness and warmth. I enjoy HT strings for this brand as I can play a little harder and the strings still hold their sound without rattling.

My only reason for giving 4 stars is how quickly they lose their brightness in certain conditions. Beware if you live in cold winter areas/dry areas. I have played concerts where I put bass strings on 1 hour before the concert and they completely died by intermission! This is more of a problem with the venue being super dry (indoor heating!) than anything else, but other strings are more suitable for conditions like this.

As a professional flamenco guitarist I go through lots of strings and the basses loose their crispness after a couple weeks weeks and the trebles last for several weeks. Not having to pay for full sets just for bass strings really makes sense and I can save money.

This mixed string set is ideal for my Picado 60T63 classical guitar. D'Addario should offer this combination as a standard 6-string set.
