D'Addario NYXL1356W Nickel Roundwound Strings
Review by Fred N. on 10 Feb 2021 review stating D'Addario NYXL1356W Nickel Roundwound Strings I found these strings on the SBM "D'Addario" category page and thought I'd give them a try. I've had them on my guitar now for about two weeks or so and thought they were just O.K. They sounded good acoustically (unamplified) and also plugged-in. Then, one day I was experimenting with my favorite tube amp - the Benson 300 - and began turning up the volume a little and tweaking the tone controls. All of a sudden, I could really notice what was described on the D'Addario string description page as having more "midrange" qualities. I'm still experimenting with these strings and really enjoying the quality of sound. The only "con" would be that they seem to have intonation issues which is strange to me with a round wound set of nickel strings BUT, I'm still experimenting! For now, I'll give them 5 stars and possibly update later. If you like a medium-wound set of nickel strings, give these a try. I like the balanced gauges, too.
