Pure Nickel Plated (Wound) Strings
Review by Jeremy G. on 16 Dec 2025 review stating Pure Nickel Plated (Wound) Strings The proportion of Nickel existing in the steel (plating only, not the inner core) of the wound (only, not the unwound) strings in (most) guitar string sets is said to be (around) 8%. Previously thought that "pure Nickel" advertising claims (might possibly) be bogus - but some audible differences are (to me) noticeable as well as desirable. (As compared to EB SuperSlinky, 9-42), a bit lower (overall) wound string ringing amplitude, and a bit less high frequency content (relative to that of included unwound strings) are welcome.
