Galli Genius Carbonio GR90 HT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

I really like Galli strings, but these carbon ones are problematic. After four days of playing (16 hrs total) the strings still are stretching, so much so that by the time I get to the end of a piece, it is grossly out of tune. The Hard Galli nylon strings settle nicely and are performance -ready after an hour or two. They do continue to stretch for some days but not so much as to prevent me from performing. I do not recommend these carbon stings.

The late 2018 marks the 10-year anniversary of me periodically trying Galli’s carbon strings! Unfortunately, I still deeply regret to report that Galli haven't fixed their ongoing problem with reliability of carbon trebles. In fact, they still fray and shred so badly that the last time when I've put them on, the first string lasted only for about 2 hours of my normal practice routine before it started losing sustain and going out of tune. Finally, it broke and scratched my hand so badly that my finger even bleed. I wish I could attach some photos here of the treble strings to show how badly they frayed. I don't understand, how all these years Galli had been getting away with such a terrible design flaw? My only guess is that professional players simply don't use them while amateur or wannabes won't probably notice anything anyways as they don't play a repertoire of that difficulty... I also don't understand why Galli haven't bothered to change the formula of their carbons the way some other competitors did when Savarez's proprietary contract with the supplier had expired sometime around 2013, if I'm not mistaking? Anyways, the only reason I've been periodically wasting my time and money on this set all these years is because, to me personally, this is the best carbon set in terms of sound, playability, and response. Indeed, to me, these are the best sounding carbon trebles and, only if it wasn't that painful problem with fraying and peeling, it could have been easily my favorite carbon set! It's so frustrating that due to this problem it’s absolutely impossible to use them or recommend to anyone. Therefore, in the future, I will probably still continue to waste my time and money by giving them another try every once in a while, just to check whether they have fixed the problem, as well as writing negative reviews if they haven’t or positive if they have. As of now, if you are a professional guitarist like myself, definitely stay away from this useless junk!

P.S. It is also worth noting that at the time of writing this review on 12/23/2018 this set is priced here, at SBM, at $18.39, while when I bought it here on 10/25/2018, I’ve paid only $11.99! Eighteen bucks, for such a flawed set!? WOW, you’ve got to be kidding me!

I normally prefer MT and don't like carbon (fluorocarbon.) These say "Carbonario" and are monofilament but they may not be "fluorocarbon." So I don't know what these are compared to other carbon-type strings but...I like them! They last well, they are very reasonably priced and they sound great on a Cordoba C9. The feel is good, the sound projection is fine. I can get varied tones. I certainly would buy these again, might try the MT for a test to see which I prefer. Galli is not as well-known as some of the other string names but when I bought the guitar, it was strung with Galli and I liked them. I still like them. Good value.
