Too much tension and hard to tune.

I installed these on my newly purchased Ibanez RG. I love trying out different strings and I’m always glad for strings by mail because it allows me to use pretty much anything I can think of.

Anyway, I installed these and everything seemed alright. The guitar tuned and intonated well. The strings have high tension, much more than I prefer, they are very stiff and I honestly struggle to play any lead lines with them, that’s personal preference though and someone else may love , I did just want to mention that.

The actual problem I had was tuning. Once I got the guitar to brand practice it was extremely hard to get them to pitch, they would either be too sharp or too flat, getting them just right was a challenge and they required frequent re tuning as well. Full disclaimer, the guitar has locking tuners so it may be that the round wound core is not working well with them but I’m not sure. Either way, I won’t bother with these again.
