Take This Review with a Grain of Salt
Review by James S. on 11 Jun 2026 review stating Take This Review with a Grain of Salt I purchased this removable (admittedly, guitar) pick-guard set because I thought it would fit a Kamaka 8-string baritone ukulele (which is, more-or-less, of a “parlor guitar” size). I was wrong. It does not really fit well. With purchases such as this (especially as I had to open the wrapping, and actually “use” the product to find out that it was a poor fit — and then deal with a likely “you pay the return mailing costs,” and probably some BS “restocking fee”),* it was not worth returning. So, I just saved it in the event it might later have some value to me on some other instrument (though not particularly likely) or if it might be useful to give away to someone else.
So, perhaps a good product for others; currently useless for me; too inexpensive to be worth returning (as I would probably end up “paying” to return it); and maybe useful as a free gift to someone later on.
So, probably a fine product if you want it to be a removable pick-guard for a classical Spanish “Andres Segovia” guitar (maybe “5-star,” as it seems good quality); somewhat worthless if you think it will well-fit your baritone ukulele.
Thus, a “3-star” review. Probably “5-star” for it’s stated intended use on a Spanish classical guitar; kind of “2-star” if you try an “adapted use” on a baritone ukulele.
So, this is not a traditional review — but one that is written as I keep getting e-mails asking me to write one.
