RC Strings RL50 Recital MT Classical Guitar Strings, Full Set

Well balanced sound

I rarely write reviews because I don't have the time, except when I'm very disappointed with something and don't want other people to waste their money on that. Nevertheless, I must say I'm genuinely impressed with this particular set! I'm a professional concert artist, and I have tried more than 80% of all strings on the market. Because of that, I'm hardly ever impressed by anything these days. However, this particular set has really stood out for me in several good ways. First, it has a unique sound with a distinct "Spanish" character, which I really loved. Second, I'm impressed by its longevity and durability. Third, I loved the tuning stability. Fourth, I loved the feel of it under my fingers, the super-fast response, and the fantastic sustain of the bass strings. Fifth, at the current price of $13, you just cannot beat any of the qualities of this set I listed above. At first, I felt I could use a bit more tension. However, after trying the Royal Classics "Sonata" medium tension set, which is very similar in design but offers a bit more tension, I quickly realized that while the "Sonata" set had a bit more punching power and volume, it also carries less sustain than this "Recital" set due to the increased thickness of the strings. For that matter, this "Recital" set is still my favorite one by the RC. I wish they could sell more of these here than only six per buyer. At the moment, this set is priced similarly to the famous D'Addario EJ45 set. And at this price, there is just no contest between the two, at least for me. I would pick this set any day over anything else on the current string market that is similarly priced.

They RC Recital strings, as used by Gohar Vardanyan, are as good as she has said. They made my Greg Miller cedar top classical guitar sound as good as it ever has.
