The physics of shorter scale guitars require significantly less tension and can be too “slinky” with normal tension strings. I prefer the ease of play that shorter scale guitars provide, but I want the “normal” tension of a 650 mm guitar. These XHT strings enable me to have the volume and feel of a 650 mm guitar using normal tension strings. I generally change the bass strings twice as often as the trebles and sometimes mix the fluorocarbon trebles on different guitars so purchasing bass sets of the XHT is a great purchasing option! I do have have one lattice braced doubletop 650 mm scale and still find the XHT’s bring out the best volume and tonality even with the slightly greater playing tension.
