Aquila Zaffiro Normal Tension Classical Guitar Strings 129C

The strings are nice, but not exactly what I had hoped for, i.e., they feel too much like Carbons. They do not have a grippy enough surface, but rather a smooth, yet good sound!

Really not a fair review — but this is my experience:
- heard great things about this string.
- Broke the high E when tightening. This can happen to any string; but disappointing when it does.
-The HT strings were just too heavy for my older hands. Again. Probably my fault for not getting NTs.
- The sound quality was really good; but due to the above two issues, I replaced them before they were broken in.

I liked these quite a lot on my Lucero LC230S (Cedar Top / Bubinga Back & Sides), a good balance of brightness from the trebels and good bass, so far these are the 2nd-best bass strings from all the Aquila types i've tried on this guitar. I'm going to try out the Zaffiro Normal Trebels with the Ambra Light Basses soon.

As others pointed out, these "Normal" Tension strings from Aquila are more like Med-Hard depending where you look. The total set tension for the Zaffiro Normal is 90.37lbs (41.08kg) for reference D'Addario EJ45 normal are 85.85lbs (39.02 kg) and the EJ46 Hard tension are only 89.94lbs (40.88 kg). Aquila's designation for string tension tends like this, and is not even consistent within their own company it seems, just make sure you add them up and see what the total is.
