D'Addario Pro Steels EPS170 Regular Light (45-100), Full Set

Normally I prefer D'Addario EXL170's. They're nickel wound with hexcore and have a wonderful feel. I bought the EPS170 steels this time because I needed something bolder and brighter for my Yamaha because it has a very deep, middy tone. These fill the bill. They still have a nice feel although the steel winding is a little rougher on the fingers. It's no problem for me though. The brighter sound of the steel compliments the full-bodied tone for a well rounded sound. Even with the hexcore, the Daddario's have a more supple feel than most other hexcores I've tried.

Not only did the item arrive quickly but I received a personal thank you note. Rarely these days do you see that level of service. I will be ordering all my strings from Strings by Mail from now on.

They are great strings. I put them on a clients bass; they wanted a punchy sound and these did the trick!

These are my favorite strings. Even with a hex core, they don't feel stiff at all. The crunch and growl is amazing especially on the low E. Very well balanced tone throughout. Long lasting
too. I had a set on for seven months before they started sounding dead. Beautiful strings. D'Addarios are the best.
