Alloy 52 is run through computer controlled precision rollers in the winding process to create a semi-flat string with great articulation, a mellow tone with less finger noise. Ideal for fretless players that want to be easy on their fingerboards but not give up that roundwound “growl.”

They're special

My second time using Pressurewounds, and on a second bass. I love flatwound strings, but they don't always cut through with all types of music and bands.

I play 95% upright and round wounds *can* be a shock to my fingers. They flattened these out just enough, but they maintained some grind and crush. Very pickup responsive, stay in tune, broad tonal range for your eq or tone knob to play with.

This set is closest in feel to a standard hexcore 105-45 set, if that what you're use to.

Great Tone

Great strings and easy on the fingers.

Tangy, not twangy

I am growing to love these strings more and more. I have them on a couple of my basses, and plan to put them on more. I'm basically a roundwound player, and these strings have much of the roundwound sustain but with less finger noise (but still more than a flatwound). They can still growl like a round, but are more comfortable to play. And while their tone is kinda between a round and a flat, it has a full, rich flavor all its own due to the Alloy 52 winding.
