Cool nails, but still looking
Review by Stephen D. on 16 Dec 2025 review stating Cool nails, but still looking I have periodically broken a nail or two and need some prosthetic assistance. (Turns out that tractor hauling and chain sawing aren't completely compatible with classical guitar performance. ) So I periodically put on a fake nail or two. There have been two problems: 1. Since keeping a fake nail permanently glued on wrecks the real guy underneath, after a week or two, I always use press-ons. The tape that comes with the press-ons doesn't do very well under the stress of guitar playing. 2. Since fake nails are made for women's fingers, and I'm an average size guy, finding something for the thumb and middle finger is tough. So I was very happy to find this kit. After struggling with the rough translations from Italian in the directions, I managed to figure out the system and got my first nail on. It held for two, maybe three days of playing-excellent! And the kit comes with three different hardnesses of nails, and you can figure out for yourself which one works for you. (No, not labeled. ) But nothing comes close to the size of my pretty average thumb, which is a disappointment. So I still use the one that I made myself out of scrap plastic. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the kit.
