Hannabach Silver Special 8157LT Classical Guitar Strings, Bass Set

The strings are great sounding. The lower tones are rich sounding.

The MT Silver Specials really helped open up the bass on my first "hand made" CG (Euro Spruce, I. Rose wood, Bouchet braced). I couldn't get a full enough bass tone with the Augustine Reds and the Savarez. Hannabachs mediums are equal to many other brands high tension. 815 mediums were warm full & fat on Guitar, yet the tension was noticeable to me. My Luthier recommended the 815 low tensions. I didg them, still warm & fat and easier on my hands. I'm using 815 L.T. bass, Knoblich G3 & Augustine B3/E4 (love the warm Augustine B3/E4 on my Guitar). I really dig SBM!!!!!!!!

I have tried many different strings, most bases sound excellent when first strung up, but deteriorate after a couple of weeks. I prefer Hannabach hi tension basses fro my flamenco, and low tension bases for my classical guitar. I like a nylon wound G string on my flamenco, silver would was very good but they kept on breaking. For my classical I like a Savarez Alliance fluorocarbon normal tension G string. It is louder, and narrower. I have tried Augustine gold Imperials for first and second strings in both, but they sound dead. ProArte normal tension D'Addario sound much livelier for the first and second strings on both flamenco and classical, and allow easier vibrato than the fluorocarbon strings. My flamenco is Conde Hermanos AF 25R, and my classical is a Kenny Hill Signature cedar. I think guidance on strings is important, there are so many of them and we need to know the pros and cons of all the strings. It takes a long time to experiment with all of them. Loosening the bass strings somewhat between practice sessions can prolong the good sound of a new set of bass strings.
