Medium weight Knobloch strings with Actives trebles are the perfect match for my 2021 Andy Culpepper negra, with spruce soundboard and Panama rosewood back and sides. I learned about Knobloch strings during a workshop with Amir-John Haddad in Spain in 2018 -- "El Amir" was justifiably enthused about these strings, for sound, feel, and durability. They brought out the best in the two Manuel Bellido "negra" guitars he'd brought with him.

I have done business with Strings by Mail for years. They are professional, efficient, and honest in their analysis of the parameters of the strings that they sell.

I have four types of accoustic guitars, plus banjos, violins, ukuleles, and a mandolin. I don't have the resources and time to try every brand of string out there - at least not in the two years that I've had a flamenco guitar. In that time, I've tried four - maybe five brands, mostly hard tension, nylon, & carbon. The hard tension carbons sounded great, but playability suffered for me on the treble strings at the first and second frets; very stiff. They also broke at very inconvenient times, and I can tell you that in 50 years of playing, I have never been hurt by a broken string...until the high tension carbons let me have it. It really hurts! These medium strings really make my guitar resonant with very nice overtones, clear lows, ample volume and projection. Playability and feel suit me as well. I can't comment on longevity, but I expect them to go a couple of months with a couple of hours a day on them. I don't feel the need to keep trying other options, as these Knobloch's are allowing (or causing) my guitar to inspire me.
