Dense, pure trebles, and tight basses

This set is very good, probably one of the best of all. Trebles are very sense, pure, loud, with some sparkles. Basses are good too. Balance between 6 strings is also good. But the tension is a lot more than I can handle with ease, especially after a week. Best sounding between 3 & 7 days. Next time I will try 33.5.

My "go-to" strings on all

My "go-to" strings on all of my classical guitars have long been the Savarez Premium Cantiga normal tension (510 MRP), but I decided to give several Knobloch Erithacus models a try. I first tried the EDC 33.5 medium tension on my 2019 Stenzel, and the EDB 34 bio-nylon medium-high tension on my 2016 lattice-braced Price. Now both guitars have been fitted with the EDC 34 here under review. Both guitars sound and perform better with the EDC 34s. Although the thicker bio-nylon treble strings in the EDB line were easier to finger, I was disappointed with their comparatively dull, muffled sound. In contrast, my 2016 Price has never sounded better since I replaced them with the EDC 34 set: as other reviewers have noted, the fullness and clarity of the basses are remarkable, and the balance between them and the trebles is perfect. The difference on my 2019 Stenzel between the medium tension EDC 33.5 and the medium-high tension EDC 34 is more subtle and, in the case of my aging fingers, presents a trade-off between the former, which require less left-hand finger pressure on the strings, versus the greater volume/projection provided by the latter. In any case, I am now a big fan of the EDC line, and will probably reach for the EDC 34 set in the future.
