Optima GPS011 24K Gold Plated .011, Single String

First off I have a nickel allergy, and as a guitar player it's really debilitating. . I used to play elixir stainless steel wrap stainless steel core 11s, but after they quit making them I had to switch string brands.
Thanks I found these Optima 24 karat gold plated . 011-. 050s, their tone is incredible so much warmer and brighter and the elixirs. Also makes bending really really easy, even for 11 gauge strings, makes them feel like Im playing 9s. .
I read that the lifespan is really really long and can last months to a year before needing a string change, so hopefully that's the case. But I've noticed is that there's no tarnishing or anything in the months that I've been using on my two Les Paul's. .
Plus there's the aesthetics, my Les Paul's both have gold hardware so the gold strings match perfectly and look real slick. . .

Good unwounds that last well. Nice tone too. I use them in my treble pairs on 12 string.

I started using the Optima gold strings a couple years ago. I play blues music on a Strat and bend my strings a lot, along with up and down tremolo action. Always nice to have a spare single gold plated string for that just-in-case moment and I'm glad SBM carries singles these days!!

They are indeed warmer than tin-plated unwound strings and the shiny gold accent look gorgeous. But the differences between these and cheaper silver-plated unwounds, if any, are quite insignificant and negligible.
