Sagreras | Guitar Studies Books 1-3 for solo guitar

I choose Sagreras as my primary method, starting from a digital edition to try it. Wanting the portability and screen-less benefits of a print edition, this is it. I would prefer ivory pages and spiral binding like the Mel Bay Carcassi method, but this is a pretty standard music book well worth the price considering I plan to use it for years. I like how the method builds slowly, having some easy pieces to learn techniques, and some pieces that take longer to learn, but are nice to play as repertoire.

I have so many guitar study books, but I really think the one I just bought from Strings By Mail is the best. Each string is identified and there are so many practices to really learn the notes on each string. It has been a lot of fun going through from the very first page because the exercises are so varied and melodic. I have played guitar for many years, but when my teacher Marc Garvin suggested the music in this book, I ordered it. I could have ordered from Amazon, but I wanted to call Strings By Mail because they are so helpful and know the type of strings I have ordered in the past. they always include a personal thank you for even small things I have ordered.

These studies are beautiful as well as helpful for developing one's technique. I often find that having practiced one of these studies improves a work I am learning. And, because they are beautiful, they are fun! I always look forward to the 'Sagreras part' of practicing.
