Wound trebles are fantastic and these strings are the best wounds on the market.

The only reason trebles weren't always wound, like the lower three (+) is because until recently it wasn't possible to do so. Trebles used to made of natural fibers , then later plastics were invented and became accepted and that's what we all use now. More recently, the technology existed to wind the trebles or give them the feel of being wound (reticulated).

Winding the trebles confers the same advantages it does on the lower strings- greater ability for your left hand to find purchase on the string when you're playing hard to keep fingerings.

The sound is clear and bell like and the durability is excellent. I myself would never go back to unwound strings. Some people claim that wounds sound different. I have never seen a double blind study which confirms this and the basic physics of a string forming sound waves in the air strongly suggests that the reticulations would not cause the sound wave to form differently.

The sound of these strings is, independent of the treble winding, pure and bell-like. I highly recommend them.
