Clear and accurate sound
Review by Marcelo F. on 1 Sep 2022 review stating Clear and accurate sound We know that some reviewers on Amazon were concerned whether D'Addario's tuning forks are loud enough to hear. We're very happy to report that the volume is outstanding, but you do need to hold and strike the tuning fork correctly in order for this to happen. Be sure to strike the side of one of the prongs; that is, don't hit both prongs at once. Also, be sure that you don't touch the prongs with your fingers but hold onto just the black handle so you don't kill the ringing action. And where you touch the tuner to the guitar can affect the sound; we prefer to put the butt end of the tuner on the bridge of the guitar. The accuracy is great; we double checked this device against both our recently tuned piano and an electronic tuner, and the D'Addario was spot on. In addition, this tuner is small enough to be portable but not too small for use. So why use this instead of an electronic tuner? For us, we find it helps train our ears much better. And something great that we didn't anticipate is that a guitar tuned with this manual tuner sounds better when played that a guitar tuned with an electronic tuner--at least to our ears!
