These strings are definitely edgy and bright when you first put them on, but I found they "play in" after a couple of days and sound really nice. More volume and projection? Yes, I think so. I would recommend trying these strings on budget guitars or maybe even student models. They can wake up a quiet guitar as well.

Just make sure you don't stretch them by hand. Also, smooth down sharp edges at the bridge and nut. The high tension can leave these strings breaking if you weaken the string or they encounter a sharp edge.

Lots of fullness for a carbon string.
