This set of strings works consistently well on my 1a, producing a rich sound with excellent volume. After a while, I have found the 1st string becomes a bit harsh. Last time this happened I switched out the Alliance 1st string with a Hannabach 9001 MHT 1st. This worked extremely well, producing a warmer sound on my 1a. Will try this again as soon as the 1st string starts to get harsh.
