Pepe Romero Strings PEPESR Classical Guitar Clear Nylon HT, Full Set

I have a Sanchis guitar that has always had good sound but sometimes a bit shrill. The Romero strings mellowed that away and added even more to its tonal depth.

After receiving a request for review I wrote back indicating that I had not received the order yet. It appears that my order was lost in the mail.

I received a personalized answer within minutes requesting confirmation of address and the person indicated that they would send a replacement at the start of business the next day.

I received the replacement order in a timely manner and everything is great!

Like John D’s previous review I tried this set on my GVR Estudio and the transformation in tone, sustain and clarity was magical. The bases have just the right balance of warmth and sustain and the trebles are clear with bell like ringing and perfect tension for great playability. I will be trying gut strings next and debating which set next for my 657 scale Matano.

Bought the high tension set based on reviews and a video from Jose Romero. They are packaged well and went on the guitar well. Also tuned up pretty quickly. I like the bass strings, they don't seem too "boomy" on my guitar. The nylon strings seem a bit dull on my cedar top guitar, an RE Brune, model 30C. Had them on about a week and I'm thinking they might sound a bit brighter on a spruce top guitar. Also, they don't "feel" light high tension, more like medium or normal tension. That's not necessarily bad, just the way they feel to me. If my opinion changes after having playing them a bit longer, I will post an update. So far they are good, just not great.

I tried other strings but these are the best. I use them on my Pepe Romero Jr. Espana.
