The Good: Solid Tutor teaching the Segovia Method with great illustrations and “Study Tracks” that you can play along with using the online Track Player when you long-in, this comes with your purchase, a pass code is provided on the first page.
The not so good: The on line Music Track Player. It is simple to use; however, you cannot change tempo in the conventional sense. Although I’m new to Guitar I am not new to Music, I’ve played Woodwinds for 30 years and used many Tutorial Players. You CAN slow down the Study Track but not change tempo, in other words the sound file is simply slowed down with the subsequent notes simply elongated or stretched, sort of like Elvis singing Viva Las Vegas in slow motion. For Example, A decent player gives you the ability to drop the Tempo on a 2/4 from say 86 BPM to 69 BPM with each note ringing true on the Beat.
Personally I think the Noad Book does a better job teaching beginners music notation, But I do like the Study Tracks in the Parkening Tutor, if only the Player was more versatile. In the end it’s the teaches that matters, but if you don’t have a Teacher and can afford it, get both Books.
