Sound great, but very unforgiving
Review by Jean C. on 12 Oct 2023 review stating Sound great, but very unforgiving I bought the SLT strings because I thought they would be easier to play, but I was surprised to find that they are not low-tension at all. In fact, they felt more like high-tension. I have used a few other brands of strings of both medium and low tension, but the Hannabach Silver Special SLT were the highest tension of all that I have used. A positive thing about these strings is that after only having them on my guitar for two days, they were pretty much staying in tune, with only minor adjustments necessary. And they sound fabulous! They have a rich tone, and seem to be louder than others I have used. The sustain is incredible, too. However, I have found that with other strings I can get away with maybe not placing my finger exactly right up against the fret and still get a good sound, but with these strings, if I don't place my finger precisely, it's very obvious--buzzing and poor sound quality. They are not at all forgiving--at least on my guitar. I wish that Hannabach had some strings that are actually low tension, though. I don't think I'm going to stick with these because they're just not comfortable to play
