Pepe Romero Strings LAVA1 Ukulele High G Set

Received new set of ukulele strings. One broke while uke was just sitting on table after a few days. They promptly sent me a new set at no cost.

These are pricey, but worth it if you have an otherwise nice ukulele with certain problem notes- a common occurrence. These are thinner than most sets, look the bomb over spruce or cedar, and most importantly seem to smooth out the response across and up and down the fretbaord. Lovely, sweet A string, and the set pairs well with Thomastik-infeld C30, Uke Logic or Fremont wound low G.

These strings feel soft under your fingers and gives a warm yet projecting sound. I have had a hard time finding a set of strings that aren't so high tension for my Kanile'a KSR because its slotted headstock design adds more tension and the regular Pepe Romero strings that I love on my other ukuleles were not the same on the KSR. Enter the Pepe Romero Lava strings. Unlike lava strings of other brands, these are a smoky translucent and give a much brighter sound. While the company states that these strings were designed for strumming, I find them to be a joy when I am fingerpicking with lots of sustain. I wholeheartedly recommend these strings!
