Gut and silk strings
Review by Howard B. on 4 Apr 2024 review stating Gut and silk strings I have been delighted with the Aquila Gut and Silk strings. I play with flesh, not nails, and so far these strings are showing no signs of wear. As a harp luthier, my experience with gut strings is extensive; these strings are as good as any I have tried on either instrument.
The sound is rich and pleasant, and the low tension is pleasing to me. The sustain is a bit less than the synthetic strings that I have tried, but the sound is warm and intimate.
