ECG23 is D'Addario's lightest gauge of flatwound strings. Chromes' smooth feel and warm, mellow tone is ideal for traditional jazz, rockabilly twang, R&B and some pop/rock styles.

The flat that sounds round

Ah-------- YES! The seduction of flatwounds!

A couple of months ago I had an opportunity to do some playing on an L5 which I hadn't seen in years which was set up with some flat wound 11's. AH-----YES! I had forgotten the seduction of flatwounds. I thought it might be fun to put some on an LP and see how they sound through a high-gain amp. Enter a Boogie Triaxis and a 395 pwr amp. Stellar! Next I put a set of D'Addario Flatwound Chromes on a LP ES, same amp, again the sound and feel were really great. I think I have some string changing to do.
