hmm, just like the Aquila Carbon Blacks...
Review by Jeremy S. on 23 Oct 2019 review stating hmm, just like the Aquila Carbon Blacks... I was hoping these would be different from the Aquila Carbon Blacks that came and went away. But to me, they are pretty much the same. Color is the same, maybe the sound is improved a bit. I would say they have excellent sustain and ring and volume. And i'm sure they'd make certain ukes sound great. But for me for what i was hoping for, they didn't quite do it for me. The main reason is the feel. They are very noisy under the fingers, making loud enough "swishing" sound like some ground nylons that i hear those first before the string tones and it's distracting. I've played enough of these types that the noise doesn't completely go away.
On top of that, they still feel like playing "wire" as opposed to a string, and that doesn't feel good to me. So i'm glad i got to try these out finally, but probably will not buy again.
