Pepe Romero Strings GCNM Classical Guitar Clear Nylon NT, Full Set

I have been experimenting with string t6pes and tensions. Previously purchased light tensions Pepe Romero LT flamenco strings. The strings sounded great on my Cordoba Flamence Blanca, but they were just too soft. They also took a long time to break in. I transitioned to the normal tension classical strings. The break in time was much lower, and I was able to play out of the case with just minor tuning to after 2 days. The sound is great, but I am a novice, and I am only playing 30 - 60 minutes a day.

Great strings, tone is lively and clear…

Although I do stand by my previous review to reflect my impression of days 1 through 4, I now find that these Pepe Romero clear nylons to be maturing very nicely ever since. Highly unusual to me that these strings "mature" over such a lengthy time interval. They are becoming more balanced and harmonious.....Basses and trebles are evenly suited to each other. Harmonics are sweet and increased resonance is now noticed. They sound very "natural" or refined, if you will. Although on the quiet side, my tendency to "push" them for volume results in distasteful tones. Strings feel slinky and soft....perhaps the hard tension strings will be better suited for my playing. I believe these strings are best to be played more lightly than not and for a smaller, intimate audience. Definitely not a booming string set to be heard over background noise or a large crowd. Very suitable for high quality recording. Worth a try.

Although these strings were highly recommended, I fail to see the attraction. Inferior to any inexpensive strings I've ever tried. Very soft under the fingers and quiet to the ears. Tones are mellow overall but not at all "honey-like". Simply a weak set of strings and not exactly cheap. One week in and still disappointed.

5 stars. These have become my favorite strings. Although I try other brands, I come back to these.
